Here’s a little bit about Myra

Myra Armstead is a law school graduate. She has served as a volunteer and assisted women victims of domestic violence in her local community. She also donates used clothing and shoes on a monthly basis to needy single mothers in the Bessemer area and surrounding communities as her personal ministry towards empowering women (The Trunk Ministry). She provides free notary services to senior citizens and poverty-stricken individuals in surrounding communities. Myra volunteers with the Salvation Army as a bell ringer during the Christmas holidays in an effort to assist in raising money for needy families.  The volunteering continues with the mission ministry of local churches in serving needy families during the holidays by preparing food boxes for delivery.

Myra served as the president of Miles Law School Student Bar Association (SBA) and will always be an ambassador for Miles Law School. She worked hard to increase, establish and maintain student morale. Under her administration she reinstated student Identification cards, tremendously increased student involvement within the community, increased student membership and involvement within the Alabama Lawyer’s Association, Magic City Bar Association, National Black Law Student Association as well as Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. She established and maintained an ongoing relationship with Miles Law School Alumni Association, developed and maintains relationships with Miles College administrative staff. She organized and developed a law student volunteer cadre for the Selma Jubilee Festival. As the SBA President she sought out to represent the Student Bar Association in the most dignified and professional manner possible.

Myra currently serves as the District Chancellor (president) for the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, non-lawyer member of the Alabama Lawyers Association, past recipient of the Joseph M. Perry, Jr Award for Parliamentary Advocacy. She served as non-lawyer member of the Birmingham Magic City Bar Association and the National Black Law Student Association (BSLA). Myra’s most recent and major accomplishment was becoming an author. She wrote and published her FIRST book, “Divine Purpose” and this is only the beginning for Myra. She has recently launched a new venture “Sister Circle”. This platform focuses on addressing the needs of young girls, teenage girls and women of all ages. The ultimate mission is to direct women and people in general to God through his word and biblical principles.

Myra is a woman of impact. She continuously searches for ways to make a difference in her own unique way. She is looking forward towards manifesting other God given ventures that are currently in the planning process. Myra is excited about the things that God is doing in her life as well as humble by the ways he has chosen to use her for his Glory.

Food for thought during this episode:

Sisters Doing More was created to empower and educate women and families across the world. We empower them to be mentally and financially healthy. Through mental health we can then begin to see our purpose and journey of financial wealth.
